Worktrotter
Dear reader,
The summer is definitely coming. Sunshine and pleasant temperatures several days in a row are sure signs for that. To chill a bit even while you are still at work and to prepare you for the weekend, check the weekend fun published each Friday morning.
Here's the weekend fun from last Friday.

June offer for "Business-Dances with Danes"
Benefit of the collected knowledge on work culture in Denmark and how we as non-Danes can deal with it. E.g. we all know that Denmark is an egalitarian society and we like that. But how can we show that we are the best candidate for a job? Saying that you are an expert in topic x or that you were the best in your team, will not go down well with Danes. So what can you do? This book gives explanations to this wuestion and many others.
With our current offer you can so-to-say save the tax.

Read more about the June offer here.

(Mis)understanding positive feedback in Denmark

Where to celebrate Sankt Hans in 2013
Sankt Hans in DenmarkSankt Hans is a major celebration in Denmark, probably also because it marks the long-awated summer with sun and warmth.
Sankt Hans combines quite a few different traditions. The name itself derives from John the Baptist (Hans), and the witch at the stake refers to the witchburnings. The burning sends the “witch“ away to Bloksbjerg, a mountain in the Harz region of Germany. Moreover, herbs are said to have magical powers on this night.

See our list of the major places in Denmark where Sankt Hans is celebrated. People gather long before, have picnics with friends, eat grillfood, in many places live music is offered and then comes the highlight. In many places a small bonfire is lit earlier on, such that kids can also see it before they have to hurry up to bed.

Meet the Worktrotter-volunteers
Pierre OllevierPierre OllevierI am Belgian and have been in Denmark since 2 months now as I wanted to join my girlfriend. I have graduated in a master's degree in Business Engineering (Finance/Management) from the Louvain School of Management (Belgium). As I have experience in auditing I am looking for a job in Finance and Management in Copenhagen. I speak French, English and Dutch. In my spare time, I like doing sports (Football, Cycling, Badminton). As I am also passionate about culture, I am currently working as freelance tour guide in Copenhagen. At Worktrotter, Pierre is our event scout and tries to keep you up to date with WHAT'S UP in Denmark.
