Another fine Spark-up! Based on the number of questions people had for Robert from LLO, you could schedule this topic of renters' rights every year. Next time I rent I will be smarter about it, that's for sure! Thanks for the great information.

Dear Dagmar,

The event was truelly helpful and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for organizing such events in order to help all foreigners living and trying to work in Denmark.
Your meetings cover so many aspects. They all make an excellent guide.
I will for sure reccommend your meetings to people I know.

Also a good point - you also make people very welcome by offering food and drinks and they have this time for networking, which is also important.

I look forward to the Taler dansk event.

Kind regards

Lenka

At the November Sparkup meeting we had again 35 Worktrotters defying the darkness and ugly weather and they have been rewarded with 2 good presentations and plenty of helpful information.
Please share your feedback on this event.

Best,
Dagmar

Hej,

sadly I cannot provide you a name nor a recommendation, but I like to share what I am doing to avoid hair cut costs.

Wearing my hair short since many years I use now a hair trimmer - costs are down to electricity and there is no hassle to get an appointment. And yes, the barber speaks my native language, also. ;)

Sorry, this is only for people wearing their hair short - yet an option to consider.

Hilsen

Bernd C.
Keep going.

:( Due to unfortunate situations I lost my contact company with my Bachelor project so now I have to find some other solution in order to finish it. As I am writing about retention of international graduates around Copenhagen areaI thought of starting a forum topic here in worktrotter. I would like to get some information on how some foreign graduates especially those who graduated in Denmark found jobs? So if anyone had the same experience then please contact me or maybe just have an idea about it.

My e-mail is : tanya_pedersen83@yahoo.dk

Kind regards,
Tanya

Topic: Problems with the landlord?

It seems that many expats experience problems with their landlord either during or at the end of their tennancy and I have heard of some who had to pay a large amount of money for renovating the appartment. It seems that some also find out, that they are paying a far too large amount of rent.
To avoid such problems, the next Sparkup event on Nov 11 will deal with the topic "Rented housing". We'll have Robert Nedergaard from LLO, the tennants country rganisation, who will explain laws and regulations, give advice and answer many of your questions.
Please sign up for the event via http://www.worktrotter.dk/events/details/33-sparkup11.html

See you there,
Dagmar

There is a new version from October 2009, but that is in Danish:www.skat.dk/SKAT.aspx?oId=137721 (pdf, bottom of page)

Make an appointment with a SKAT consultant (make sure you have your questions ready!!) or go to a meeting for starting business in Denmark, organized by SKAT (in Danish).
www.skat.dk/SKAT.aspx?oID=316665 for a calendar of these meetings.

Hi Dagmar

you could consider inviting someone to help expats understand the steps in the process of

1. renting a house/apartment
2. buying a house/apartment - different types of apartments/houses avialable, agencies, websites for search, approval for foreigner wonership, bank loan process, loaning agencies, credit arrangements etc.
3. using a car - buying, leasing, weekend cards, car for hire etc.

Topic: Temp position as Clinical Publisher at NovoNordisk

Clinical Publisher (13 October 2009)

Area
R&D – Denmark - Bagsværd

Clinical Reporting is seeking a temporary Clinical Publisher for one year. Our department prepares clinical documents for submission to regulatory authorities worldwide. Furthermore, we are responsible for driving the implementation of the Novo Nordisk document management system, novoDOCS, within the clinical part of the organisation. We work in a highly regulated environment where strict adherence to timelines and internal and external guidelines is essential.
Clinical Reporting is situated in Søborg and currently employees 34 Medical Writers and 7 Clinical Publishers. The department has many different nationalities and we work together in a pleasant and informal atmosphere.

Challenges
The position of Clinical Publisher is an administrative job that requires a service-oriented mindset, attention to detail, as well as the ability follow procedures, maintain a broad overview, and juggle diverse tasks. Applicants are expected to have a flair for learning new computer systems and be able to function as a super user / trainer of other users. The ability to meet deadlines and to work both independently and as part of a team are important components of the job.
The Clinical Publisher will be part of a small team within Clinical Reporting that is primarily responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of clinical documentation required for a new drug application. In accordance with current regulatory guidelines, these documents must be submitted in high quality, easily navigable electronic format. Clinical Publishers communicate requirements to document providers, provide assistance as necessary, and compile electronic clinical documentation by following Novo Nordisk Standard Operating Procedures.

The team is also involved in ensuring the implementation of electronic processes related to correct use of the Novo Nordisk electronic document management system (novoDOCS) within the clinical area. More specifically, this involves regular contact with novoDOCS end-users at clinical projects to support their work in novoDOCS and word templates, as well as spotting, solving, and preventing errors in documentation. Clinical Publishers are also responsible for the electronic navigability of the documents using Adobe Acrobat and ISI toolbox to edit documents, e.g. bookmarking and hyperlinking.

Qualifications
You are outgoing and service-minded. You may have a technical, administrative, or customer service background/education. You are a fast learner, with a proven ability to learn new IT tools. You are a team player, willing to lend a helping hand. You are detail oriented and have a flair for spotting errors. You are comfortable working in English on a daily basis, both verbally and written. It is helpful if you have experience with working in Documentum based systems and/or Adobe Acrobat. You possess a good sense of humour, are structured and thorough, and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You are flexible and open to new challenges.

In return we offer an interesting and challenging job with a high degree of individual responsibility as well as good personal development opportunities in an international atmosphere.

Topic: Program for female jobseekers

Dear Worktrotters,
here is a program we've been asked to share with you. It can help some of you to get into the Danish jobmarket.

Kvinder på vej (Ladies on their way)
This project has ben set up for non-Danish women, who want to find work and as a means of better integration.
It includes among other aspects: Danish lessons, writing CVs and job applications and an 8 week internship in a company. This can get you really well prepared and you'll get "the foot in the door".

It runs for 24 weeks, daily from 8:30-14:00. The first run starts in Oct 2009. So, hurry up.
Those of you who can't make it they have chances to get into it in January 2010, August 2010, January 2011, August 2011.

Of course there are some prereqs:
- you must not receive support from the Danish state it whatever form (S.U., kontanthjælp or dagpenge)
- your Danish must be on the level that you can follow the program. Something like module 4. But the program includes intensive Danish, so it gives a good chance to improve it.

If you are interested, please get in touch with
Susanne Legêne
Center for Beskæftigelse, sprog og Integration (CBSI)
Hejrevej 10, 2400 Kbh. NV, Tel. 26 77 02 71

See details about the program (in Danish).

Good luck,
Dagmar

Dear Worktrotters,
thanks for joing. We had 50 people learning about how to use LinkedIn and about Leading in Denmark. I was very impressed with Alex' presentation about LinkedIN and all the things you can do with it. Can't wait to improve my profile and get rolling. You can download Alex' presentation from: http://www.startupdenmark.dk/resources/networks. Scroll to the button. If the direct link doesn't work here's how you can find it:
http://www.startupdenmark.dk -> click Resources -> click Networks
Scroll to the bottom.

Please share your views on how you liked the meeting and what it gave you. This will motivate many more to join the Sparkups and the other Worktrotter events and get great benefit for their life in Dk.

See you next time,
